Celebration time, come on!!

Each year around this time, as I pause to celebrate another completed trip around the sun and Mother’s Day beckons me into reflection, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the many blessings that enrich my life.
Above all, I am humbled by the truth that the greatest gifts I have ever received are not the years I have been given, but the two remarkable souls who have given those years their deepest meaning.
As many of my readers know, My Curated Edit of Useful Bits was created as a digital legacy for my daughters—a collection of lessons, reflections, and carefully gathered wisdom to help guide them through life’s inevitable twists and turns.
But this entry is different.
This is my chance to say thank you to the two extraordinary forces of nature who have transformed my world. My daughters continually humble me with the way they help me see more clearly, understand more deeply, and experience a kind of completeness in my heart that nothing else can provide.
Within the past year specifically, the girls have really entered into an era of their own, where I have found myself repeatedly astonished by their individual abilities to grasp the subtleties of life’s challenges, navigate their own emotions with grace, and offer perspectives that are strikingly mature and wholly selfless.
To summarize, this year so far has been a nonstop exercise in acceptance—navigating complex dynamics beyond my control, practicing patience with challenging personalities, and learning to see clearly through intentions that were not always transparent.
In every circumstance—some my own, some shared, and some uniquely theirs—my daughters have revealed insights far beyond their years. Their purity of heart, emotional clarity, and innate capacity for empathy have humbled me in ways I struggle to put into words. There is nature, and there is nurture. Yet the depth of humanity they possess, their instinct to extend grace, to forgive, and to see beyond the transgressions of others—reflects qualities I continue to work toward myself.
In so many ways, they are not only my children, but they have become my most profound teachers and quite honestly, the best therapists I could ever ask for.
Thank you, girls. I am so freaking proud of you and I am deeply grateful for the honor of being your mother. You are the reason I strive to become a better version of myself each and every day.

With Age Comes Wisdom
As you get older, you will understand more and more that it’s not about what you look like or what you own; it’s about the person you become.
In the end, what really matters is:
Not what you bought, but what you built
Not what you got, but what you shared
Not by your competence, but your character
Not your success, but your significance
Not your intelligence, but your impact
Not the length of your resume, but your legacy
I will never regret getting older
I know too many people who never had that privilege
Live a life that truly matters
Live your life, not someone else’s
Here’s to another year around the sun.
